Diversity in Tech: Microsoft Experiences

This event, in collaboration with Rainbow Business and Microsoft, highlighted the importance of diversity in the tech industry.

Attendees learned about Microsoft's inclusive initiatives, such as GLEAM and 1K Queer, which support LGBTQIA+ students and professionals.

The discussion focused on the role of diversity in driving innovation and creating a more inclusive industry.

The event also provided networking opportunities and a deeper understanding of breaking down barriers in tech.

EY Case Competition

We were privileged to host a case competition with Our Diamond sponsor, EY; the EY x BizTech Case Competition challenged students to solve real-world business problems in teams.

Participants joined teams and applied their knowledge to develop solutions simulating a high-pressure business environment.

The event highlighted the importance of creativity and analytical thinking in the workplace.

Out of the 16 teams, the top teams were invited to the EY office to present their ideas.

1st place was awarded to Case Mavericks, who were rewarded with an opportunity to interview at the assessment centre, giving them a competitive edge in their careers.

Data engine event

DataEngine Fraud Detection Workshop

The Data Engine Workshop focused on fraud detection.

Attendees explored practical examples of how to build a fraud detection model.

The session was led by Indira Bandari, a Microsoft MVP, who shared her expertise and real-world experiences in the field.

As well as two other representatives from Data engine (Subashi Randeni and Serena Roncolato).

Participants gained valuable insights into the technical aspects and the ethical considerations of fraud detection in data science.

Women In ISOM High Tea

Our most significant event for the year, which we are excited to host again, Is the Women in ISOM High Tea.

This event will empower female students to pursue their dreams in Information Systems and Operations Management.

This event will feature inspiring talks from women in the field, providing mentorship and networking opportunities.

Attendees will learn to navigate their careers and break barriers in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

The high tea setting will offer a relaxed environment to connect and learn more about what a career in ISOM has to offer.

Power Bi

Power BI: Case Competition

We are collaborating with the Data Science club to bring the Power BI Case Competition.

This case competition will challenge participants to uncover insights from four years of retail data.

Teams will compete for a $300 prize pool, applying data storytelling skills using Power BI.

This event is exclusively for DSC and BizTech members, encouraging teamwork and analytical thinking.

It's a fantastic opportunity to showcase their talents and work together to learn new skills, whether you are a beginner or an expert; in this case, comp is for all skill levels.
